The 31 GLBT History Month Icons, living or dead, are selected for their achievements in their field of endeavor, their status as a national hero, or their significant contribution to GLBT civil rights.

Today's Icon is Yves St. Laurent. One of the most noteworthy fashion designers of the 20th century, Yves St. Laurent is renowned for creating innovative, influential trends. He was first to introduce elements of pop culture into haute couture.
