The 31 GLBT History Month Icons, living or dead, are selected for their achievements in their field of endeavor, their status as a national hero, or their significant contribution to GLBT civil rights.

Today's Icon is Urvashi Vaid. Urvashi Vaid is an attorney, author, activist and the Executive Director of the Arcus Foundation. In 2009, Out magazine named Vaid one of the 50 most influential men and women in America.
