The 31 GLBT History Month Icons, living or dead, are selected for their achievements in their field of endeavor, their status as a national hero, or their significant contribution to GLBT civil rights.

Today's Icon is Robert Rauschenberg. Robert Rauschenberg was an innovative and influential American artist whose work laid the foundation for the Pop Art movement. In 1964, Rauschenberg was the first American artist to win the Grand Prize at the Venice Biennale.
