The 31 GLBT History Month Icons, living or dead, are selected for their achievements in their field of endeavor, their status as a national hero, or their significant contribution to GLBT civil rights.

Today's Icon is k.d. lang. Singer/songwriter k.d. lang has been a recording artist for over 25 years. She has received four Grammy Awards and accolades from critics and audiences worldwide.
