The 31 GLBT History Month Icons, living or dead, are selected for their achievements in their field of endeavor, their status as a national hero, or their significant contribution to GLBT civil rights.

Today's Icon is Kate Kendell. Kate Kendell is a civil rights attorney and executive director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights. She is a national spokeswoman for LGBT rights.
