A new Quinnipiac poll out today says that 55% of Floridians are in favor of getting rid of the ban on gays and lesbians adopting, while only 39% want to keep the decades old ban.
Not surprisingly, Democrats and independent voters were in the majority that favored eliminating the ban while Republicans and white evangelical Christians supported the law.
Relationship recognition for same-sex couples was also on the rise, with 27% saying gays should be allowed to marry while 35 percent favored civil unions. That means a majority of Floridians now think there should be some form of recognition for LGBT couples. Only 31% said there should be no legal recognition of gay unions.
